City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality is situated in the southern peninsula of the Western Cape province. Langa, the Province’s, oldest black African Suburb is located at the center of the Metropolitan Municipality’s three main economics nodes: ‘City Center, Bellville and Claremont.
Langa was established as a suburb of Cape Town in 1927 abiding by the terms of the 1923 Urban Areas Act. Langa was designated for Black Africans before the apartheid era. It is the oldest Suburb in Cape Town that was designated to Black Africans, and with its rich history came much resistance to apartheid.
Ikhaya le Langa is situated at the site of a former primary school, and for generations has been a place of learning in the Langa community.
Four years in the making, the Sun Diner will soon be a hot spot for a quick breakfast meeting or a casual social lunch.
